“How great you are, Sovereign Lord! There is no one like you, and there is no God but you, as we have heard with our own ears.” 2 Samuel 7:22
God is opening my eyes to all His ways day by day. He is mighty to save and the Most Sovereign God. Have you ever just sat there in awe of how great and mighty He is? Have you ever thought to yourself, “Man, there is no one like you Lord, you are the best there ever was.” Or has there ever been a time when you were speechless before Him? He truly has many great and mighty plans for each of His beloved. All who fear and honor His name will be lift up on His wings and His blessings will befall upon them.
Proclaiming His name, and His great works is probably the most important thing we can do as His children. In fact, it is so important, that that is exactly what He created us to do.
“But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.” 1 Peter 2:9
The definition of a prophet is:
“a person regarded as an inspired teacher or proclaimer of the will of God.”
Each and everyone of us has the ability to be a prophet to this broken and bruised world in God’s timing and by His will. He shapes and refines those who seek Him by fire day by day until we are able to go out into the world, with His power glowing in our souls, to proclaim His word to all creation. He desires for all he created to know His great name and praise it with all of their hearts.
A true prophet has a continually growing deep relationship with their maker. This person is so connected to God that they know His voice apart from all others and hear all that He is speaking to them. A prophet is a person who desires to share the truth with all people no matter the consequences and persecution that will come. This person desires to carry out the will of God so much that they will risk their own comfort for the good of the Kingdom. A prophet knows that this place is not their home, but a temporary place of residence they are called to witness to.
My deepest desire is that God refines me by fire so much so that all my sins are gone, and all that is left is His righteousness and purity. I desire for that refined person God makes me to be would have the fiercest amount of courage and power to be able to go out and prophecy His works to all the land.
I do not believe I am there yet, but I believe that God is teaching me more each day and drawing my heart closer to Him. It is the hardest thing in the world to deny your own personal desires and comfort for God. But that is exactly what He calls us to do. In return He promises to flow forth His riches blessings upon our lives. There will surely be struggles and pain in this world. But God always promises to stand by His children and lift them up out of the pain in His timing. He promises to turn all suffering into something good.
Is your desire to be used by God too? Do you desire for Him to refine you by fire and make you more like Him. Do you desire for His power to flow through your veins like blood? I am here to tell you that He will do just that if you truly desire it to happen. Call out to Him. Tell Him your deepest desires. Repent of your old ways and fall before His throne asking Him to make you into that person He created you to be. Repentance means to turn 180 degrees away from your sins. A sin is any thought, word or deed that breaks the law of God. This is extremely important to understand, because until you understand what it means to repent of your sin, and what sin is, that very wrong doing will keep you away from your true calling in life.
Once you have fallen at His feet, Ask Him to help you turn away from your selfishness and draw you closer to His heart. If you need help knowing how to call out to Him or you don’t know how to start or where to begin, please let me know. I want this for you too, more than you will ever know.
